Ihor E. Medynskyi (Demon)

25-year-old soldier Ihor Medynskyi (call sign Demon) died on June 30, 2023, near the village of Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region. While performing his duties, he sustained fatal injuries during an enemy air strike. He was considered missing for four months. Ihor was born in the city of Selidove, Donetsk region. He obtained a higher education at the National Technical University "Dnipro Polytechnic" with a specialization in "Underground Engineering". However, he dreamed of working in the IT field. He served his military service in the Presidential Regiment. Recently, he lived in the city of Pershotravensk, Dnipropetrovsk region. He worked at the Vodafone company. He loved playing football and volleyball. With the start of the full-scale war, the man joined the ranks of the Territorial Defense Forces, and in August 2022, he became a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa. He was a UAV operator. As part of his unit, he defended his native Donetsk region. He received the award "Cross of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade". "He was a strong, smiling, and kind person. He always showed initiative, was resilient, fearless, and bravely defended our country until his last breath," said the deceased's loved ones. The defender was buried in his hometown. Ihor is survived by his parents, brothers, sister, and grandmothers.
