Ihor F. Khytushko (Khit)

Soldier Igor Khitushko (call sign Hit) was killed on May 4, 2023 during the assault on enemy positions near the settlement of Khromove in the Donetsk region. The defender was 40 years old. Igor was born and lived in Kamyanske, Dnipropetrovsk region. After school, he graduated from the local vocational school No. 24. He worked at the Metinvest contracting organization - at the Dniprovsk Metallurgical Plant. At the beginning of the full-scale war, in March 2022, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 5th separate assault brigade. He was a grenade launcher assistant. "My father joined the army at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. When the war started in 2014, I was only 12 years old and my sister was 3. And mom begged dad not to go anywhere. All these years he had thoughts that he was not there. He thought a lot about it. Dad always said: 'We have to finish this war - our children should not die'," the deceased's daughter Karina said. The warrior was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the cemetery in his hometown. At home, Igor was awaited by his wife, sister and two daughters.
