Ihor I. Kharchenko

Ihor Ivanovych Kharchenko was born on October 15, 1967, in the city of Zvenyhorodka, Cherkasy Oblast. He received his military education at the Kyiv Higher Combined Arms Command School. A senior lieutenant, in 2020 he signed a contract for military service in the 72nd Mechanized Brigade. With the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, he joined his unit to defend the Motherland. Ihor Kharchenko sustained serious injuries in combat near the city of Irpin in Kyiv Oblast. On March 14, 2022, he died in the hospital without regaining consciousness. He is buried in Zvenyhorodka, Cherkasy Oblast. He is survived by his wife and son.
