- Born on June 16, 1988, in the village of Rozalivka, Kotovskyi district (since 2016 - Podilskyi district) of Odesa region. In 1992, he moved with his family to the village of Yemilivka, Holovnivskyi district of Kirovohrad region. He graduated from a general education boarding school in the urban-type settlement of Zavalya, Haisyn district of Kirovohrad region. From 2008 to 2009, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After the army, he worked in Kyiv. On April 26, 2015, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Holovnivskyi district military commissariat of Kirovohrad region. He served as the commander of the 1st squad of the reconnaissance platoon of the 3rd mechanized battalion of the 28th separate guards mechanized brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0666 (field post V0095), urban-type settlement Chornomorske, Kominternivskyi district (since 2016 - Lymanskyi district) of Odesa region). Since 2015, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On May 13, 2016, junior sergeant Kovalenko was killed while performing a combat reconnaissance mission near the village of Teple, Stanytsia Luhanska district of Luhansk region. On May 17, 2016, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Yemilivka, Holovnivskyi district of Kirovohrad region.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
