Ihor I. Tkachenko (Kosmonavt)

Soldier Igor Tkachenko (call sign Cosmonaut) was killed on June 10, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Velyka Novosilka in the Donetsk region. The next day, the defender would have turned 44 years old. Igor was born and lived in Kyiv. He graduated from School No. 269, the Kyiv Technical College of Electronic Devices, and the National University of Food Technologies. He was involved in speed skating. After his studies, his first job was at the newspaper "Sogodni". He always fondly remembered the team he worked with. Over time, he opened his own business - an advertising agency "New Format", where he was engaged in advertising. He loved fishing. In his free time, he traveled with friends to his favorite places near Kyiv. During the full-scale invasion, the man voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to protect his country from the occupiers. He served in the separate Presidential Brigade named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky. He held the position of section operator. During his service, Igor was awarded the decoration of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Cross of the Brave". "Igor was a very kind, courageous, fair and cheerful person. He always came to the aid of friends and relatives. He adored his daughter and tried to protect her and give her the best. Everyone around him was charged with inspiration and belief that the war would soon be over, because he sincerely believed in it and fought for it. Glory to the heroes and eternal memory!" - wrote his wife Olena. The defender was buried at the Southern Cemetery near Kyiv. At home, Igor was awaited by his wife and daughter.
