Ihor I. Verbytskyi

Sergeant Igor Verbytskyi was killed on May 13, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the village of Lyman Pershyi in the Kharkiv region. He would have turned 55 on May 25. Igor was born in the city of Balakliya, Kharkiv region. He graduated from the local secondary school. Later, he settled in the village of Myrne, Rivne region. He worked as a construction worker and went abroad to earn money. He got married and started a family, which he always cared for. When the full-scale war began, Igor was working abroad. However, he decided to return home to defend his native country. The man joined the ranks of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great. He took the position of a rifleman-medic and went to the frontline. "He was a kind, sensitive, and brave person. When it all started, he was in the Czech Republic earning money. As soon as he could return, he immediately went as a volunteer to the front to defend our country," said the deceased's niece, Olena Popovych. The soldier was buried in the village of Myrne, Rivne region. Igor is survived by his mother, wife, son with daughter-in-law and grandson, and his brother with his family.
