Ihor L. Serhiichuk

Soldier Ihor Serhiychuk was killed in action on April 15, 2022, in a battle with Russian occupiers near the city of Popasna in Luhansk region. The fighter was 41 years old. Ihor was born in the city of Rava-Ruska, Lviv region. He graduated from a local school. He was interested in technology and taught himself how to repair it. He worked as a master of repairing household appliances. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Ihor voluntarily went to the military enlistment office to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was mobilized to the ranks of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Daniel. He held the position of a medic. Together with his comrades, he defended Luhansk. "He was a loving father. Calm, balanced. A caring host and a handyman," said the deceased's wife, Kateryna. "He was an extremely caring father, a good host, a friendly neighbor, and a faithful husband. My condolences to the family. May the earth be a soft pillow for him. Eternal memory!" wrote acquaintance Vira Bihun. The defender was buried in his hometown. Ihor left behind his wife and daughter. Posthumously, soldier Ihor Serhiychuk was awarded the Order "For Courage" III degree.
