Biography
Shastun Ihor Mykhailovych was born on February 23, 1993, in Mariupol, Donetsk region. After finishing secondary school in 2012-2015, he worked at the Ilyich Iron and Steel Works. In 2015, he was drafted right at his workplace and went to serve in the maritime border guard service. After six years, he rose to the rank of senior sergeant and was appointed commander of a border patrol boat. In 2021, his contract ended, and Ihor began service in the Azov Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was at the front line with the Azovs. He was killed on April 1, 2022, in Mariupol, Donetsk region. As a result of an air strike, a shrapnel tore off his leg, and he could not receive timely medical assistance due to the fierce battle. He died from blood loss. Civilians buried Ihor Shastun near a nine-story building. He was later reburied at the Central Cemetery in the village of Bilogorodka, Kyiv region. He left behind a son, mother, and younger brother.Burial place
