Ihor M. Stakhiv (Stakh)

50-year-old soldier Ihor Stakhiv (call sign Stakh) was killed on August 10, 2023 near the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region while performing a combat mission. He sustained multiple injuries as a result of enemy mortar shelling. Ihor Stakhiv was born in the village of Velyki Pidlisky in the Lviv region. He graduated from Zozuliv School. He then studied at the Lviv Cultural and Educational College. From 1995 to 2002, he held various positions at the Zolochiv State Forestry. Later, he was engaged in repair work and worked abroad for a long time. In 2021, he returned to Ukraine. He worked at a woodworking enterprise. He lived with his family in the village of Khylchytsi in the Lviv region. After the start of the full-scale invasion, on March 2, 2022, he was mobilized into the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. He held the position of rifleman in military unit 3115. On May 31, 2023, he was transferred to the 14th Operational Designation Brigade "Chervona Kalyna", where he took the position of a grenadier in the 3rd section of the 2nd platoon of the operational designation company of the 3rd battalion. "Ihor was imaginative in various pranks since childhood. At school, he always actively participated in cultural events. He was quite artistic, with a wonderful voice and a sense of humor. That's why he chose a creative profession," recalls his mother, Mariia Mykolaivna. The defender left behind a mother, sisters, a wife, a daughter, and a son. Ihor Stakhiv was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
