- Junior Sergeant Ihor Yurchak (call sign Goha) was killed on April 7, 2023, from a shot by an enemy sniper while carrying out a combat mission near the city of Kreminna in the Luhansk region. The warrior was 46 years old. Ihor was from Lviv. He studied at local school No. 82. Then he graduated from a vocational school. He served in the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine in Simferopol. In civilian life, he worked as a construction worker at GALBUD NETWORKS LLC. He loved fishing. Since childhood, he was passionate about football, which he played professionally. He was one of the best goalkeepers among veterans in the Lviv region, playing for FC Ekvator-Zakhid (Obroshyne) and FC Uragan (Bartativ). In 2018-2019, he became a silver medalist in the Lviv Veterans League, and won the Golden Autumn Cup. At the beginning of the full-scale war, in March 2022, the man joined the ranks of the defenders as a volunteer. He served in the 125th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a platoon commander. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he carried out combat missions in the Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk and Donetsk regions. In February 2023, he was wounded in battle near Bakhmut. After rehabilitation, he returned to his comrades-in-arms. "Ihor was a bright and sincere person, about such people they say - a person with a capital letter. A father of three children, he, as a real man, considered it his direct duty to defend the integrity of Ukraine for the sake of his children and their bright future," wrote the deceased's wife Lyubov. Ihor was buried in the Marsovoye field of the Lychakiv cemetery in Lviv. Ihor is survived by his mother, brother, sister, wife and three children. The warrior was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
