Ihor O. Ishchenko

Serviceman Ihor Ishchenko was killed in September 2022, defending Ukraine from Russian occupiers. Ihor was born in the Luhansk region. He received his education and lived there. He worked at the Popasna Wagon Repair Plant. After serving in the army, he worked in the police, but then returned to the plant. Due to the full-scale war of Russia against Ukraine, Ihor was forced to evacuate from his hometown to the village of Vyshnevе. There, he immediately turned to the military enlistment office to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "Ihor was a very kind and sensitive person. He tried to help everyone. He never argued with anyone," said his godfather Oleksandr Myroshnichenko. Ihor is survived by his wife and two children.
