Ihor O. Korobko

Junior Sergeant Ihor Korobko (call sign Harik) was killed on May 30, 2024, from shrapnel wounds sustained during enemy mortar fire near the village of Spirne in the Donetsk region. The defender was forever 30 years old. Ihor was born in the city of Pershotravensk (now Shakhtarsk) in the Dnipropetrovsk region. He had a secondary specialized education. He worked in the water supply network section of the Pershotravensk Municipal Housing and Utilities Enterprise. He loved to relax in nature and go fishing. He dreamed of having a large, loving family. With the start of the full-scale invasion in March 2022, Ihor volunteered to join the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. He served in the 4th battalion "Syla Svobody" of the 4th separate brigade of operational purpose "Rubizh". He held the position of squad commander. "Ihor was the best, caring, loving man, an example of indomitability, courage, and bravery for his comrades-in-arms, a cheerful, lively friend for his friends," said the wife of the fallen Yaryna. For his service, the defender had a large number of certificates and awards, including the medals "Veteran of War" and "Cross of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade", and posthumously - the Order of Courage III degree. The defender was buried in the village of Runivshchyna, Poltava region. Ihor is survived by his wife.
