Ihor P. Beresniev (Kazhan)

22-year-old fighter Igor Beresniev (call sign Bat) was blown up by an enemy mine on November 4, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Cherneshchyna in the Kharkiv region. He sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital, where he had two clinical deaths. Doctors fought for his life to the last, but the defender's heart could not withstand it. Igor was born in the village of Narodichi, Zhytomyr region. He studied at the local lyceum. In 2020, he graduated from the Malyn Vocational College with a degree in "Forestry". Since 2021, he has been working at the Zakusiliv forestry. In addition to nature, he loved cars and enjoyed repairing them, and had a desire to open his own car service station. He spent his free time with his family, friends, and his beloved. He dreamed of starting his own family, but did not have time. In October 2021, the man decided to change his field of activity and signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 48th Engineer Brigade. During the full-scale war, he held the position of commander of the engineer-sapper unit. In 2022, the fighter was awarded the insignia of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - the honorary badge "Steel Cross". "Igor was always devoted to his idea, lived for his family, always laughed and supported. Above all, he wanted children and a family, we were to get married on December 1, 2023. He was a reliable and honest person, a kind and loving guy. He always said that you need to live now. He really loved to eat deliciously at night," his beloved Anastasia said. The young hero was buried in his native village. Igor is survived by his parents, two sisters, a brother, a girlfriend, other relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms.
