Ihor P. Mykhaliuk

Junior Sergeant Ihor Mykhaliuk was killed in action on July 26, 2022, near the village of Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk region. In a battle with the occupiers, he received fatal mine-explosive injuries. The defender was 49 years old. Ihor was born in the village of Dmytrichi, Lviv region. He graduated from Lviv Higher Professional School No. 12, where he received the profession of a crane operator. For some time, he worked in the UMVS. But a significant part of his life was spent working abroad. He loved the forest and nature very much. He adored mushroom picking and fishing. During the full-scale invasion, in March 2022, Ihor received a summons and joined the naval forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought in the ranks of the 36th separate brigade of the Marine Corps named after Counter Admiral Mykhailo Bilinsky. He held the position of a shooter-sanitarian. "My father is the best father in the world. A Hero of Ukraine who, from the first days of the war, stood up to defend his Motherland and family," said the son of the deceased, Volodymyr. The defender was buried in his native village. Ihor left behind his son Volodymyr, brother Mykhailo, other relatives, close ones, and friends. Posthumously, the marine was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the III degree.
