- Born on September 7, 1979, in the urban-type settlement of Lyubymivka, Kakhovka district, Kherson region. Lived in the urban-type settlement of Narodychi, Zhytomyr region. Graduated from a general education school (now a gymnasium) in the urban-type settlement of Narodychi. Worked in construction in Kyiv. On August 4, 2014, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Served as a radio telegraph operator in the 1st reconnaissance section of the 3rd reconnaissance platoon of the 2nd reconnaissance company of the 54th separate guards reconnaissance battalion of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A2076 (field post V2803), city of Novograd-Volynskyi, Zhytomyr region). Since the fall of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On November 17, 2014, during a trip for fallen servicemen in the area of the city of Debaltseve, Donetsk region, a Ural truck of the battalion tactical group was blown up by an anti-tank remote-controlled explosive device near the village of Orlovo-Ivanivka, Shakhtarsk district, Donetsk region. As a result of the explosion, 3 servicemen were killed, and 2 others were injured. The personnel of the observation post of the Ukrainian military, located near the site of the tragedy, including soldier Yurchenko among the first, immediately went to assist the crew of the Ural truck. Upon approaching the damaged vehicle, Ihor Yurchenko was blown up by an explosive device, sustaining numerous injuries incompatible with life. He died in the arms of his brother, a serviceman of the same battalion. On November 20, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the urban-type settlement of Narodychi, Zhytomyr region.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
