Ihor R. Baidenko (Did)

Marine Igor Baidenko (call sign Grandfather) was killed on December 27, 2023 while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Krynky in the Kherson region. The defender was 47 years old. Igor was born in the village of Buzhany, Volyn region. In 1993, he graduated from a rural school. Then he studied at the Horokhiv DOSAAF driving school. He served in the army. He loved the forest and was well oriented in it, loved to pick mushrooms and fish. He worked in the local collective farm, and in the last 5 years he went abroad to earn money. In November 2022, the man was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He underwent training and later joined the 503rd separate marine battalion of the Navy. He fought as part of his unit in various hot areas of the front. "I am proud of my dad. He was a kind and loving father. He was killed for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. For my family, he is a true Hero," said Olga Baidenko. The warrior was buried in his native village. Igor left behind a wife, four children, three grandchildren, as well as other relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.
