Ihor S. Ihnatenko

Senior soldier Igor Ignatenko died on December 15, 2022, during a mortar shelling near the city of Severodonetsk in the Luhansk region. The defender was 39 years old. Igor was born in the city of Sloviansk, Donetsk region. He graduated from secondary school No. 13 and an energy construction technical school, mastering the profession of an electrician. He worked at enterprises for the maintenance of Otis elevators, and later at Donetsklift. Together with his wife Iryna, he raised two daughters: Sofiya and Olesya. Igor's family were parishioners of the Dobra Zvistka church. He loved to be in nature and was interested in computer technology. After the start of the full-scale invasion, he went to the front as a volunteer. He defended the Motherland as part of the 25th separate airborne Sicheslav brigade. He was a senior rifleman of the air mobile battalion. The defender was buried in the cemetery of the Myrne settlement of the Sloviansk community.
