Ihor S. Ivasyk

Paratrooper Ihor Ivasyk was killed in action on July 5, 2022, near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The 51-year-old defender received fatal injuries during shelling. Ihor was born and lived in Lviv. He graduated from the local Lyceum No. 81 named after Petro Sahaidachny. At school, he was actively engaged in track and field athletics. In 1989-1991, he served in Baltiysk. He returned to Lviv. He held a leadership position in a logistics and transportation company. He was fond of hunting and fishing. With the start of the full-scale invasion, Ihor immediately took up the defense of Ukraine. He served in the ranks of the 80th Separate Assault Brigade. "You gave your life so that we could live, for our peaceful dawns, quiet sleep, for the future of our children, for their smiles, for our parents, for Ukraine. Rest in peace, brother, you are a Hero of Ukraine. Bright memory to the fighter of the 80th DShB, our Hero Ihor Ivasyk," said his sister Oksana Ivasyk. The defender was buried in his native Lviv. Ihor's parents, sister, and two daughters remained.
