Ihor V. Cherniak (Chornyi)

On July 26, in the city of Radiviliv, Rivne region, they buried 33-year-old senior paramedic of the reserve battalion of the special purpose National Guard of Ukraine "Donbas," reserve soldier Ihor Vasylovych Cherniak. Ihor died in the prime of his life, just two weeks short of his 34th birthday. He was born in the Russian settlement of Zabaykalsk into a family of a professional military serviceman, who often had to change their place of residence. The last place of service for senior warrant officer Vasyl Cherniak was the training center of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the city of Zolochiv, Lviv region. After retiring, he worked at the local military enlistment office and passed away in 2010… His son Ihor graduated from Zolochiv Secondary School I-III degrees No. 2 named after Markiyan Shashkevych and the National University "Lviv Polytechnic," worked in a commercial bank, and later in construction. By nature shy and calm, Ihor surprised his relatives and friends by actively participating in the events of the Kyiv Euromaidan during the Revolution of Dignity. To avoid causing pain to his mother, who was struggling with the loss of her husband, he informed his relatives and acquaintances that he was going to work abroad and joined the ranks of the reserve of the "Donbas" battalion, later heading to the area of the anti-terrorist operation… On July 18, around 16:30, Ihor Cherniak died a hero's death in battle for the city of Popasna, in Luhansk region, trying to save the life of an injured comrade. That same evening, on their page in the social network "VKontakte," LNR militants posted photos of personal belongings, documents, and clothing of the fallen "Donbas" fighters along with a cynical text bragging about the killing of Ukrainian soldiers…
