Ihor V. Khmara

Igor Vitaliyovych Khmar was born on February 23, 1985 in Vinnytsia. From childhood, he dreamed of becoming a military pilot. After graduating from high school in 2002, he entered the Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv University of Air Force, which he graduated from in 2006 with a degree in "Combat application of the aircraft armament complex and management of aviation units (parts, formations)". He went to serve in the 7th Tactical Aviation Brigade: senior pilot, commander of the aviation link of the aviation squadron, commander of the aviation squadron. He was a participant in the ATO and the JFO. Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, he has been defending Ukraine. He was killed on May 19, 2022 during the performance of a combat mission on the Su-24M aircraft near the village of Lypove, Bakhmut district, Donetsk region.
