- 38-year-old junior sergeant Ihor Kodatskyi (call sign Voron) was killed on February 7, 2023 near the settlement of Dvorichna in the Kharkiv region. While performing his official duties, he was behind the wheel of a vehicle that came under fire from an enemy tank. Ihor was born in the village of Dmytrivka, Dnipropetrovsk region. He studied at the local secondary school. Then he entered the Pershotravensk Vocational School, where he obtained the qualification of an electric locomotive driver. After graduating, he worked in his specialty at the M.I. Stashkov mine. In 2005-2006, he served in the military. After demobilization, he immediately returned to work and at the same time enrolled at the Pavlohrad Technical School, specializing in "Mining (underground mining)". He studied by correspondence. In 2010, he got married, and the couple raised a daughter. From childhood, he loved sports, especially football and volleyball. And in adult life, he continued to engage in them. He very much enjoyed traveling around Ukraine, admiring its cities and cultural monuments. He loved resting in nature, cooking delicious dishes over the fire. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, on March 3, 2022, Ihor voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He underwent training and went to defend Ukraine in the Kharkiv direction. He fought as part of the 40th separate rifle battalion. He was a platoon commander. During his service, the soldier was awarded the medal "For Bravery in Battle", the lapel badges "For Excellence in Military Service" of the III degree and "Cossack Cross". "Ihor was always cheerful, smiling, cheerful, energetic, sociable, active, courageous, had many friends, had many plans for the future, always helped everyone who needed it. He was genuine. A real man, dad, son, friend, defender. He couldn't afford to live halfway. And now I understand why: he didn't have much time, but he had to accomplish a lot. You are my love for life, you are my Hero, you are forever in my heart. Thank you for everything!" - wrote his wife Liudmyla. The warrior was buried in his native village. At home, Ihor was awaited by his father, wife and daughter.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
