- Paratrooper Igor Komar (call sign Bzyk) was killed on January 5, 2023 in the battle for the city of Soledar in the Donetsk region. The life of the defender was cut short by a bullet from an enemy sniper. On January 17, the warrior would have turned 46 years old. Igor was from the Zhytomyr region. He graduated from vocational school No. 36 in Malyn and obtained the profession of a wide-profile tractor operator, driver, and repair mechanic. He worked as a tractor driver at PJSC "Radomyshl AGROHIM". He loved to manage his own land, help everyone, cook, and go fishing. On February 24, 2022, the man went to the front. As part of the 95th Separate Airborne Brigade, he participated in the liberation of Makariv, villages of the Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions. He was then transferred to the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took an active part in the liberation of the Kherson region. After that, he went to the Donetsk region to defend Bakhmut, and later Soledar. "The war took away the best man, father and wonderful person who loved life and his family. Without hesitation, in the first hours he stood up to defend his family and Ukraine. Igor's motto was: 'For the children, for the wife and for Ukraine'. We miss him so much... There is only eternal pain... We heard so many warm words from his comrades-in-arms. He is our fearless Hero who covered his guys to the last cartridge," said the wife of the fallen Irina Zinevych. The warrior was buried in the village of Modeliv in the Zhytomyr region. At home, his wife, daughter and son were waiting for Igor. The soldier was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
