- Soldier Igor Kondratyev (call sign Kindrat) was killed on January 8, 2023 at the Kyiv military hospital after a long struggle for his life. On October 13, 2022, during the performance of a combat mission, while storming the village of Torske in the Donetsk region, he received a shrapnel head injury. The defender would have turned 44 years old on January 25. Igor was born in the city of Bakhmach, Chernihiv region. He graduated from local school No. 5. Then he served in the army. He decided to remain in the army, signing a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Later he returned to civilian life. He settled in Kyiv. He worked in various fields, and before the invasion he was a taxi driver. At the beginning of the full-scale war, on February 27, 2022, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his native country. He served in the 134th battalion of the 114th separate brigade of the territorial defense. He was a shooter. "Igor was a very good man, a friend and a father to his children. We are all very proud of him," said his ex-wife Anastasia. "In fact, from the first days of the full-scale war, he took up arms and showed readiness to protect his family, community and state. Igor was in places where fierce battles were raging, he stood up for his country and believed in victory. Friends and comrades-in-arms say he was a golden guy. We share the pain of loss with the relatives. Eternal memory to you, defender of the Motherland. We will always be in your unpaid debt," the Bakhmach community website wrote. The defender was buried in his hometown. Igor is survived by his mother, daughter, two sons, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
