Ihor V. Modin

Senior Soldier Ihor Modin passed away on March 30, 2022, in the hospital from injuries sustained during a combat mission near the village of Zasillia in Mykolaiv region. The defender was 27 years old forever. Ihor was born in the village of Zabolottsi in Volyn region. He lived in the village of Zastavne. He stu at Ovadne Professional Lyceum, where he gained the profession of a car mechanic. He worked as a loader driver. He was married and raised a daughter. He worked a lot to provide for his family. He loved fishing, spending time with his family, and above all, he dreamed of living in a free country. On the second day of the full-scale Russian invasion, February 25, 2022, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a driver of a machine-gun platoon of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great. "We love not for something, but because we cannot not love," wrote the wife of the deceased. The defender was buried in the village of Zastavne in Volyn. At home, Ihor was awaited by his wife, Iryna, and daughter, Yulia. Posthumously, senior soldier Ihor Modin was awarded the Order of "Courage" III degree.
