Ihor V. Nipin

Senior sailor Ihor Nipin was killed on March 5, 2022, in the city of Ochakiv, Mykolaiv region, during an enemy airstrike. On March 17, the defender would have turned 29 years old. Ihor was born in the city of Svatove, Luhansk region. After school, at the age of 18, he joined the army. Initially, he served in the navy in Crimea until 2014. Then, remaining faithful to his oath, he continued his service in the city of Ochakiv, Mykolaiv region, as part of one of the units of the naval forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was dedicated to his work and defended the integrity and sovereignty of our state until his last breath. Ihor was a kind and sincere person, a wonderful father, and a caring husband. At the time of the full-scale invasion, he held the position of mechanic in a mine-clearing unit. Ihor died defending Mykolaiv region. "My beloved husband, my sweetheart. A wonderful dad, a reliable comrade, a faithful friend. This is how we will always keep him in our hearts. Eternal memory and honor," said his wife Olena. The defender was buried in the city of Ochakiv. At home, his wife and daughter were waiting for Ihor. Senior sailor Ihor Nipin was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage III degree.
