Ihor V. Serhiienko

Born on May 22, 1984, in the city of Shchors (since 2016 - Snovsk) in the Chernihiv region. Lived in the city of Horodnia in the Chernihiv region. In 2001, he graduated from secondary school No. 2 in the city of Horodnia. From 2001 to 2002, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a driver of wheeled armored personnel carriers in the 1121st training anti-aircraft missile regiment (since 2008 - the 1121st separate training anti-aircraft missile division) of the 169th training center of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A3435, the urban-type settlement of Desna in the Kozelets district of the Chernihiv region). On May 15, 2014, he was mobilized by the Horodnia district military commissariat into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a machine gunner in the 1st rifle squad of the 3rd rifle platoon of the rifle company of the 41st territorial defense battalion of the Chernihiv region "Chernihiv-2" (military unit field post V3137 - since November 2014 - the 41st separate motorized infantry battalion of the 1st tank brigade of the 8th army corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine). Since 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On September 14, 2014, soldier Serhiyenko received serious injuries during a battle near the city of Debaltseve in the Donetsk region while repelling an enemy breakthrough. He was treated at the Main Military Medical Clinical Center in Kyiv, where he died from his injuries on September 22, 2014. On September 24, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the city of Horodnia in the Chernihiv region.
