- Born on September 13, 1986, in the urban-type settlement of Korop, Chernihiv Oblast. In 2004, he graduated from the T.G. Shevchenko General Education School in the urban-type settlement of Korop. He served his mandatory military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a shooter - assistant grenade launcher. After demobilization, he returned to the settlement of Korop. He worked in various jobs in Korop, and before mobilization, he was a mechanic at a service station. On March 18, 2014, he was mobilized by the Korop District Military Commissariat into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From March to May 2014, he served in the Korop District Military Commissariat, and from May 16, 2014, he served as a shooter - assistant grenade launcher in the 41st Territorial Defense Battalion of Chernihiv Oblast "Chernihiv-2" (military unit field post V3137 - from November 2014, the 41st separate motorized infantry battalion of the 1st tank brigade of the 8th army corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine). Initially, he was stationed in the military unit of the urban-type settlement of Kozelets in Chernihiv Oblast. From June 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. He served in the Shakhtarsk district of Donetsk Oblast. On August 17, 2014, soldier Shklyar sustained serious injuries during a mortar shelling at a checkpoint near the city of Debaltseve in Donetsk Oblast. For over a week, the soldier was treated first in the Kharkiv military hospital and later in the Main Military Medical Clinical Center in Kyiv. However, the doctors' efforts were in vain, and they could not save Igor Shklyar's life. On August 25, 2014, he died from his injuries without regaining consciousness. On August 27, 2014, he was buried at the Mykhailivske Cemetery in the urban-type settlement of Korop, Chernihiv Oblast.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
