Ihor V. Starkov

Soldier Ihor Starkov was killed on October 1, 2022, in a battle with the occupiers near the village of Vremivka in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk region. The defender was 28 years old. Ihor was born in the village of Novoselivka in Poltava region. He graduated from the professional construction college No. 18 in the city of Horishni Plavni. In 2015, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and then returned to civilian life. Before the full-scale invasion, he worked at the company "EuroNet." During the full-scale war, he was called up to the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a reservist. Ihor served in the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade. He held the position of senior radiotelephone operator in the communication section of the mortar battery command platoon. “Unfortunately, war takes the best... The best citizens who are not afraid to join the ranks of defenders to face the enemy and give him a worthy rebuff. One of those defenders is my husband. He was the best husband, the best father to his children, a loyal friend who would always come to help. As soon as this brutal war began, he volunteered to defend his home, family, and homeland from the occupiers,” wrote his wife Anna. “He was a very positive person. He loved his children incredibly much,” noted the sister of the deceased, Maryna. The defender was buried in his native Poltava region. He is survived by his mother, wife, son, daughter, and two sisters.
