- Soldier Ihor Tkachuk (call sign Steve) was killed on March 20, 2023 in the Avdiivka area of Donetsk region. In a battle with the occupiers, he received fatal injuries during an enemy mortar and artillery bombardment. Three of his comrades-in-arms also was killed with him. On March 1, the defender turned 27 years old. Ihor was born in the village of Maneve, Ternopil region. In 2000, when he was 5 years old, he moved with his mother and sister to the city of Berezan, Kyiv region. He graduated from Berezan School No. 1 and Berezan Lyceum No. 3. In 2015, he mastered the profession of a computer typist at the Interregional Higher Vocational School of Communications. He worked in Kyiv as an installer of plastic structures. In 2020-2021, he traveled abroad for work. He was passionate about collecting ancient coins and stamps, dreaming of his own exhibition. He loved traveling around Ukraine and wanted to travel around the world. On the land given to him by his grandmother, he wanted to open an eco-estate and a mini-museum of family relics. He planned to start a family, build a large house where he wanted to gather his whole family. During his vacation, he managed to enjoy the first fruits in the apple and pear orchard he had planted. During the full-scale invasion, Ihor became a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the Separate Presidential Brigade named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky. He held the position of a line supervisor of the communications platoon. "Ihor was always wise, courageous, honest with himself and people - and he remained so. He saw the most important and valuable qualities in people, knew how to love and forgive. The enemy took your life, but could not defeat you. We love and are proud of you, our Hero," his relatives wrote. The warrior was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the Zhovtneve cemetery in Berezan. Ihor is survived by his mother Antonina Rostyslavivna, sister Iryna, and a large family.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
