Ihor V. Turmii (Tur)

Junior Sergeant Ihor Turmii (call sign Tur) was killed on April 2, 2023 in a hospital in Kyiv. While performing a combat mission on March 22, 2023, the soldier sustained serious injuries near the village of Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk region. He was 31 years old. Ihor was born and lived in Kremenchuk, Poltava region. After school, he obtained the profession of an electrician at Kremenchuk Vocational School No. 27. He served in the military. He worked at a local factory, then started to go abroad to earn money. In his free time, he loved to play football. When the full-scale war began, the man was in Poland. However, he decided to act as a true patriot - he returned to his homeland and went to the military enlistment office. In March 2022, Ihor was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 71st Separate Jager Brigade. After training, he went to the Donetsk region. He was wounded twice. "Ihor was the best person in my life. He was an honest, brave, fair, loving man, a father, a son, a brother. I still can't believe he's not with us," said the fallen warrior's wife, Olha. The hero was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Svistovo cemetery in his hometown. At home, his parents, brother, wife and daughter, who was 3.5 years old at the time of her father's death, were waiting for him.
