Ihor V. Usachov (Usatyi)

Senior Sergeant Igor Usachov (call sign Usatyi) was killed on April 29, 2022, while performing a combat mission on the territory of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol, Donetsk region. The hero was 51 years old. Igor was born in the village of Rokytne, Rivne region. He graduated from the Lviv Institute of Internal Affairs. He was a lawyer by profession. He worked at the Rokytne District Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Rivne region. Then he engaged in entrepreneurial activity. He was fond of fishing, cars, and construction. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Igor fought as part of the separate special forces unit of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov". He held the position of senior driver of the logistics company. "Igor was a very decent person, cheerful and full of life. Military service and family were his priorities. He loved and supported children very much. He had the respect and authority of his fellow countrymen and colleagues," his wife said. Igor is survived by his wife Svitlana, son Volodymyr, and daughter Kateryna. The warrior was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
