- Vesniy Ihor Volodymyrovych was born on July 27, 1979, in the village of Boyanets, Nesterivskyi District, Lviv Oblast. In 2001, he graduated from Lviv State Agrarian University. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine, Junior Sergeant Ihor Vesniy was one of the first to voluntarily arrive at the Territorial Recruitment Center and joined the border troops. From March to April 25, 2022, the border guard defended the settlements in Donetsk Oblast. It was during this time that fierce and brutal battles for the city of Lyman in the Kramatorsk district of Donetsk Oblast began. On April 16, 2022, near the city of Lyman, the enemy launched an offensive, using tank and artillery shelling. The border guards, together with servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine, were forced to retreat to the positions of the second defensive line near the village of Nova in the Kramatorsk district of Donetsk Oblast. Ihor Volodymyrovych, as part of the support group, personally provided cover for the forward group, which was making a forced movement to the second line of defense. During active combat operations in that area, Ihor Vesniy went missing. On April 25, 2022, while monitoring internet resources, a photo of a deceased serviceman of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine was found, in which Halyna Romanivna Vesniy recognized her husband — Junior Sergeant Vesniy Ihor Volodymyrovych. On October 4, 2022, Ihor's body was exhumed from a mass grave near the village of Nova in the Kramatorsk district of Donetsk Oblast. On January 8, 2023, after a medical examination, Ihor Vesniy was buried in his native village. For personal courage and selfless actions demonstrated in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as loyalty to military oath, Junior Sergeant Vesniy Ihor Volodymyrovych was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.Memory Book of the MIA System
