- Reconnaissance officer Ihor Bokhoniuk (call sign Boatswain) died on September 6, 2022 in the hospital from severe injuries received near the village of Shevchenkove in the Mykolaiv region. The defender was 55 years old. Ihor was born in the city of Lutsk. He graduated from Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. He loved sports and helping people. In the fall of 2020, Ihor went to serve under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a reconnaissance officer of the reconnaissance platoon of a mechanized battalion. "A kind, sensitive person. He never gave up and always found words of support for everyone, although it was often very difficult for him. Always open, sincere, smiling, full of positivity and optimism. Strong and resilient, as he took care of his health and was an athlete," said the defender's niece. "Near Kherson, in a battle with the Russians, my friend Ihor Bokhoniuk was killed! He was a glorious Cossack... May the Heavenly Kingdom be with you, brother..." wrote his friend Ihor Mykytenko. "Our classmate, a graduate of the 10th grade, in the war. In the eighth grade, you gave me a photo album that I probably didn't touch for several years. Well, today I took it," wrote the warrior's classmate Larysa Holoiukh. Senior soldier Ihor Bokhoniuk was buried at the Central Cemetery in the village of Harazdzha in Volyn.
