Ihor Yu. Kotov

Igor Kotov, a fighter of the Territorial Defense Forces, was killed on March 3, 2022, while defending Chernihiv from Russian occupiers. The defender was in a local school when an enemy missile hit there. He was 47 years old. Igor was born in Zhlobin (Belarus). He lived in Chernihiv since childhood. He studied at school No. 30. For 15 years, he worked for himself - he had a business manufacturing metal structures, and residents of Chernihiv and the region used his services. In his free time, he loved bicycle trips and visits to the youth theater. When the full-scale war began, Igor took up the defense of the Chernihiv region. He joined the ranks of the local territorial defense. "My father was a very kind and cheerful person. He was very successful in business and constantly developed it, it was his life. On February 26, he went to protect our city on his own, without telling anyone in the family. His death was a huge tragedy for our family," said the deceased's daughter Khrystyna. The defender was buried in Oleksandrivka, Chernihiv region. Igor is survived by his father, sister, and daughter.
