Ihor Yu. Shypovskyi (Shypa)

Soldier Igor Shipovskyi was killed on March 14, 2022 near the settlement of Bereznehuvatе in the Mykolaiv region. When changing location, a traffic accident occurred. The defender was 46 years old. Igor was born in the capital. He graduated from the Kyiv Higher Vocational School of Water Transport. He worked as a welder. In January 2022, he registered his own construction company. From the first day of the full-scale Russian invasion, on February 24, 2022, the man went to the local Territorial Defense Forces. He arranged a bomb shelter there. He stood guard at the post every night. Then he became a fighter of the 128th separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended Kyiv. In May, he was awarded the Order of Unity and Freedom for courage and dedication shown during the defense of his native land. In August, the fighter, together with his comrade, was transferred to the 11th special forces battalion of the 112th brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "Igor was an extraordinarily cheerful person. He lived life to the fullest every day. He adored me, the children... We didn't divide them into 'mine-yours', although we didn't have any children in common. He adored his grandchildren. He loved animals. He found new homes for those abandoned by their owners. And he found them!" - said the wife of the fallen Natalia. The serviceman was buried at the Forest Cemetery in Kyiv. Igor is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.
