Ilhar A. Abbasov (Abu)

Soldier Ilgar Abbasov (call sign Abu) was killed on January 27, 2023 while performing a combat mission in the Konstantinovka area of Donetsk region. During the battle with the occupiers, an enemy VOG-17 grenade hit the defender between the vest and the armor plate and exploded there. The warrior was 27 years old. Ilgar was born in the village of Tetirka, Zhytomyr region. He studied at the local school. Then he went to serve in the army. After demobilization, he settled in Novoyavorivsk, Lviv region. He worked as a construction restorer. There he found love and got married. In his free time, he loved to fish. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Ilgar was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 106th battalion of the 63rd separate mechanized brigade. He was a machine gunner. "Unspeakable pain. Ilgar was always a sincere person, never leaving anyone in trouble. He was a faithful and loving husband, father and son. He believed in victory and stood defending the country until the end. Eternal memory to our Hero!" said the godmother of the fallen, Diana. "Sincere, cheerful, sociable, kind, humane, decent, honest, fair, lively, super positive, a good friend, a loving son, father and husband - this is how Ilgar will forever remain in our memory," wrote his classmate Svetlana. The defender was buried in Novoyavorivsk. Ilgar is survived by his mother Valentina, sister Anastasia, wife Maryana and son Timofiy.
