Illia A. Usenko

National Guard Ilya Usenko was killed in action on July 30, 2022, near the village of Maryanske, Dnipropetrovsk region, while performing a combat mission. The fighter received injuries incompatible with life during the artillery shelling by the occupiers. He was to turn 24 on August 20. Ilya was born and grew up in the city of Zhovti Vody, Dnipropetrovsk region. After school, he stuwas killed in action at the Kamyanske Medical College in the specialty "Nursing". In 2018, he was drafted into the army for military service. After returning to civilian life, he worked at "Nova Poshta" in Kamyanske, Dnipropetrovsk region. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, in February 2022, the guy went to defend Ukraine from Russian occupiers. He held the position of sanitary instructor of the 1st separate battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine. "The pain of loss cannot be expressed in words... You were a wonderful person and a cool friend. Eternal memory! We will not forget! We will not forgive! Glory to the Hero. Heroes do not die...", wrote classmate Karina Chakhmakhchyan. The fighter was buried in his hometown. Ilya's parents and wife remained.
