- 34-year-old junior lieutenant Illia Fedorenko was killed on August 8, 2023 in the area of the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. During the assault on enemy positions in the uncontrolled territory, Ukrainian soldiers came under tank fire. The officer received fatal injuries. Illia was born in Hungary. He lived in Kherson. He obtained a higher education at the National University of Trade and Economics. He was a participant in the Revolution of Dignity. In civilian life, he worked at LLC "TSENTR KHERSON". He was married and raised a daughter whom he loved more than anything. When the full-scale war began, the man evacuated his family to a safe place, and then went to the military enlistment office. Later, Illia was mobilized into the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of platoon commander of the 46th separate airmobile brigade. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he fought in the Kherson region (Velyka Oleksandrivka, Mala Oleksandrivka) and the Donetsk region (Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka, Soledar). During his service, the officer was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree, the "Steel Cross" badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and posthumously - the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky of the III degree. "Illia was a patriot of his country. In 2014, he was a participant in the Euromaidan. After the start of the full-scale invasion, he evacuated his family from the occupation and joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a strong and courageous warrior, an example for many of his comrades-in-arms and had authority in his platoon," wrote his wife Yulia Fedorenko. The warrior was buried in the Alley of Glory of the central cemetery in the village of Petropavlivska Borshchahivka, Kyiv region. Illia is survived by his parents, wife, daughter, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
