Ivan A. Bych (Student)

Soldier Ivan Bych (call sign Student) was killed on February 23, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the Kreminna area of Luhansk region. On February 8, the warrior turned 25 years old. Ivan was born in the village of Parkhomivka, Kharkiv region. He graduated from school. Later, he went to work abroad. He was passionate about sports and played football professionally. During the full-scale invasion, Ivan joined the ranks of volunteers and stood up to defend his country. He held the position of rifleman in the 18th Sloviansk Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. He wanted to avenge and honor the memory of his fallen friend Oleksiy Zaharenko, the commander of the rifle battalion, who was killed in battle with the occupiers. "Vanya was the most cheerful, kindest, smartest, and most charismatic among all his friends and in his entire city. This is truly a case where the best perish. He was brave, courageous, and kind. A wonderful guy, friend, and son. A person who was ready to come to the aid of everyone," said his close friend Krystyna Pyatnytsya. The warrior was buried in his native village. Ivan is survived by his parents, older sister, other relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms.
