Ivan A. Levko (Lova)

Soldier Ivan Levko (call sign Lova) was killed on October 1, 2022 near the village of Biloghirka in the Kherson region. During the performance of a combat mission, the defender received fatal injuries. For 15 months, the warrior was considered missing. After the identification procedure, his death was confirmed. Ivan was 23 years old. He was born in the village of Porichchia, Lviv region. He graduated from the Novoyavorivsk Higher Vocational School. He obtained the profession of painter-plasterer, mason. In civilian life, he worked in construction. In his free time, he loved to play football. On February 25, 2022, Ivan was drafted into military service. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended the integrity of Ukraine in the Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia and Kherson directions. He held the position of a soldier-rifleman, assistant grenadier of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo. "My brother was kind, honest, sincere and courageous. Everyone remembered him as a caring guy who never refused, always came to help. He wanted to live and travel, and also dreamed of continuing his military career," said Zoryana Alieva. The defender was buried in his native village. Ivan is survived by his parents, sisters and brothers.
