- Junior Sergeant Ivan Ivasiv was killed on May 31, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Hatishche in the Kharkiv region. In July, the defender would have turned 28 years old. Ivan was born in the city of Dobromyl, Lviv region. In 2010, he graduated from the local secondary school. He then entered the Dobromyl Vocational Lyceum. During his school years, he played football and promoted workout with his friends in his hometown. He loved the winter Carpathians, snowboarding, and traveling. From 2013 to 2018, he served under contract in the 80th Airborne Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) / Joint Forces Operation (JFO). He was the commander of the AGS-17 section. He participated in the defense of Luhansk Airport and the liberation of Sloviansk. In May 2023, the man joined the ranks of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and continued the fight for the Motherland. During his service, the soldier was awarded the badges "Participant of the ATO" and "For the Defense of Luhansk Airport," the award of the President of Ukraine "For Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation," and the award of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine "For Combat Merits." "Ivasiv was incredible, loving, understanding, caring, and devoted. Always ready to come to the rescue and give everything. And his life - for Ukraine," his wife Anastasia said. The intelligence officer was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Forest Cemetery in Kyiv. Ivan is survived by his mother, wife, grandmother, brothers, sisters, and nieces.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
