Ivan I. Nikolenko

Soldier Ivan Nikolenko (call sign Wilson) took his last battle on February 24, 2022 near the village of Rykove, Kherson region. He died while performing a combat mission as a result of a direct hit by an enemy shell. The defender was forever 26 years old. The fighter was born in the village of Pysarivka in the Odesa region. He graduated from a secondary school. He worked in a bakery, and recently at a factory. He dreamed of military service. During the full-scale war, he defended the country as part of the 9th separate motorized infantry battalion "Vinnytsia Scythians". He was a scout of the reconnaissance platoon. "We met in 2010. He was the best, kind and real. Forever in the heart. According to the stories of his comrades-in-arms, the man fought for 9 hours without water and food. Courageous and brave. Our Hero!" - said his wife Kristina. The defender was buried in his native village. Ivan left behind a daughter, wife, mother, brother, sister and relatives. Ivan Nikolenko was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
