- Paratrooper Ivan Novakovskyi (call sign Kabina) was killed on December 26, 2022, near the city of Marinka in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he came under enemy fire from "Grads" and received a fatal shrapnel wound. The warrior was forever 31 years old. Ivan was born and lived in Kyiv. He studied at school No. 231. Then he graduated from the Open International University of Human Development "Ukraine". He was a specialist in car repair. He was fond of sports. During the full-scale war, Ivan without hesitation defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders. He defended the Motherland in the ranks of the 79th separate air assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He courageously and worthily carried out combat missions. He sincerely believed in victory over the enemy. "He was always a cheerful and interesting guy. A lover of thrills, he got pleasure from fast driving. Ivan's 'Suzuki Grand Vitara' was his life! And no matter what happened, the fountain of emotions in the car turned into the joy of the driving process, because Ivan was a very calm driver. Next to him - resolute, courageous, brave and fearless - it was always comfortable, calm, a sense of confidence and trust appeared. We are kindred souls. Ivan is the one I will always carry with me. He is the man who believed in me earlier than anyone else. And no matter what happens, he is always there..." - said the deceased's friend Natalia Neskoromna. The hero was buried at the Baikove cemetery in his native Kyiv. At home, Ivan was awaited by his mother Tetiana Anatoliivna, his cousin Oleksandr, nephew Vitalii, and friends. Posthumously, soldier Ivan Novakovskyi was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
