- A 26-year-old platoon commander Ivan Ohrimchuk (call sign Kicker) was killed on March 7, 2022, during the liberation of the Kyiv region from Russian occupiers. The platoon under the command of the officer fell into an enemy ambush. During the shelling from a heavy machine gun, Kicker was killed instantly. Ivan was born in the city of Slavuta, Khmelnytskyi region. He stu at Slavuta Gymnasium No. 3, then graduated from the Nettishyn Vocational Lyceum and received the profession of an electric welder. In his free time, he was engaged in boxing, kickboxing, and wrestling, loved sports, and led an active lifestyle. He loved fishing, but there was never enough time for it. Since 2015, Ivan, following his heart, has linked his life with military service. He first joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and took part in the ATO. Later, during his first leave in 2016, he entered the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny. During the full-scale war, Ivan defended Ukraine as part of the 109th Separate Mountain Assault Battalion of the 10th Brigade. After some time, together with the unit, he went to liberate the Kyiv region from Russian occupiers. There, the hero accepted his last battle. "Ivan was an extraordinarily kind and sensitive person. He always promised to protect all his loved ones and close ones. He was respected by friends and comrades-in-arms, cherished by relatives. It is extremely difficult to write anything about him after his death, as I cannot comprehend that I will never hear his voice again and will not be embraced by him, and that dreams will remain unfulfilled. I love him endlessly and miss him," Ivan's beloved girlfriend Anastasia shared. The young officer was buried in the village of Paschuki in Khmelnytskyi region. At home, Ivan was awaited by his mother Tetyana, sister Lyudmyla, and beloved Anastasia. Posthumously, Senior Lieutenant Ivan Ohrimchuk was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
