Ivan I. Shaivarovskyi

Soldier Ivan Shaivarovsky (call sign Vancho) died on April 16, 2023 in the battle for the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. He received fatal injuries after being hit by enemy artillery fire. The defender was 34 years old. Ivan was born in the village of Krasnoillia, Ivano-Frankivsk region. He had a secondary education. He worked with wood materials, built houses and churches. He also went abroad to earn extra money. He loved music very much, had a good voice, and enjoyed singing. With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the machine gun platoon of the 4th separate tank brigade. "Ivan was a good brother, loved justice, and came to the aid of everyone who needed it: whether family, neighbors, or strangers. He never refused anyone. He was sociable. He was not married, but he was dating a girl. After the war, he dreamed of returning home, starting a family and finishing building the house he had started for his family. He helped his parents, his mother has been ill for a long time, and he was a reliable support and pillar for them, since all the relatives have scattered around the world," said his sister Svitlana. The defender was buried in his native village. Ivan is survived by his parents, five brothers and five sisters.
