Ivan I. Tenkaliuk (Chornyi)

22-year-old soldier Ivan Tenkalyuk (call sign Black) was killed on January 22, 2024 in the area of the village of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region. During the assault by the occupiers, he tried to evacuate his comrades-in-arms from the battlefield, but suffered a fatal wound. Ivan was from Bukovyna. He was born and lived in the village of Ivankovtsi, Chernivtsi region. He graduated from the Chernivtsi Vocational Lyceum of Railway Transport. He worked in construction. He was passionate about football. He loved to spend his free time with his loved ones and friends. He was the life of the party. The man was voluntarily mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine in May 2023. Ivan served in the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade. "He was very fair. He always saw things through to the end. He was cheerful, and in all his photos he is smiling. He always helped everyone. Everyone loved him very much. He was a sincere person, and the guys at the positions loved him very much," said his fiancée Yevheniia. The paratrooper was buried in his native village. Ivan is survived by his mother, brothers, sister, and fiancée.
