Ivan I. Tochylov

Junior Sergeant Ivan Tochylov was killed on March 29, 2023, near the village of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he received a fatal wound. In two months, on May 22, the defender would have turned 19 years old. Ivan was born in the village of Lisok, Lviv region. He studied at the Oleske Vocational Lyceum, where he obtained the profession of a mechanic-driver. He was passionate about football. He had not yet had the chance to start his civilian career when the occupiers launched a full-scale offensive. The young man decided that he had to protect the peaceful future of his country, so he postponed all his plans and voluntarily joined the defense of Ukraine on December 5, 2022. He became a warrior of the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended the Luhansk direction. "Ivan was a brave, sensitive, courageous, and strong-willed warrior. His comrades-in-arms said that he was the first in all undertakings. Ivan, at the age of 18, gave his life for us, for a free Ukraine and peace. Having so many plans and unfulfilled dreams. You will always be in our hearts. Little Ivan Ivanovych..." - wrote his sister Halyna Filipova. The paratrooper was buried in his native village. At home, Ivan was awaited by his sister and brothers.
