Ivan M. Buhir (Buhor)

Sergeant Ivan Bugir (call sign Bugor) was killed on July 12, 2023 near the settlement of Novoselyvske in the Luhansk region. During the assault on enemy positions, he received a fatal explosive injury. The defender remained forever 33 years old. Ivan was born in the village of Bitlya, Lviv region. He graduated from the Turkiv Vocational Lyceum and obtained the profession of a crane operator. He worked abroad. He was passionate about cars and loved to sing Ukrainian folk songs. During the full-scale war, the man returned to his homeland and on March 7, 2023 joined the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was the commander of the air mobile unit of the 25th separate airborne brigade. "He was a beloved husband who was a pillar in my life. We lived together for 10 years. We went through many life trials together. We had many plans for the future. He loved and was most proud of his daughter, who is his copy," said the wife of the deceased. The paratrooper was buried in the village of Horbachi, Lviv region, where he lived with his family. At home in Ivan, his wife Maryana, daughter Olesya, relatives and friends were waiting for him.
