Ivan M. Nykolyn (Toretto)

Paratrooper Ivan Nykolyn (call sign TORETTO) was killed on September 5, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhia region. The defender was 36 years old. Ivan was born in the village of Kamiane, Lviv region. He graduated from the National University "Lviv Polytechnic" and obtained the qualification of a mechanical engineer. He worked as a driver-mechanic and a driving instructor. His last place of work was the company LLC "Khlib-Traid", where he was a driver-expeditor. In his free time, he loved to repair something: from household appliances to cars. During the full-scale war, Ivan served in the ranks of the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was the driver of the anti-tank missile systems platoon of the fire support platoon. "Ivan was an extraordinarily good person, his sincere eyes radiated so much joy and warmth. The best dad, he had a very close connection with his son Demian... He gave the most precious thing - his life, on his son's birthday, so that he could live in a free, peaceful Ukraine," said the wife of the fallen Khrystyna. The warrior was buried in his native village. At home, Ivan was awaited by his parents, two sisters, wife, and son. Posthumously, soldier Ivan Nykolyn was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
