Ivan M. Rusnak

The 23-year-old soldier Ivan Rusnak was killed in action on March 31, 2022, during the execution of a combat mission in the Mykolaiv region. Enemy shelling cut short the life of the defender near the village of Partizanske. Ivan was born and lived in the village of Yosypivka, Chernivtsi region. He stu at the local school. During the full-scale war, Ivan defended Ukraine in the ranks of one of the combat units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a senior mechanic-driver. "Regret, sorrow, tears. It's impossible to come to terms with the death of our hero. Young, he would have only just begun to live, to create. But the Russian enemy of all humanity is destroying our warriors, children, peaceful people. Eternal memory to our immortal hero Ivan. And to his family, sincere condolences," wrote his fellow villager Lyubov Moshenko. "We all express our sincere condolences to the parents and family of the deceased. Your pride and support gave his life for the defense of our Ukraine. We share your pain and bow our heads in deep mourning. May the All-merciful Lord God receive the pure and sincere soul and place it where the righteous rest," wrote the head of the Kostryzhivska community, Vitaliy Berkovsky. The serviceman was buried in his native village. Ivan is survived by his parents. Posthumously, soldier Ivan Rusnak was awarded the Order of "Courage" III degree.
